Pretium Music is an Austrian/Malaysian music production company specializing in areas of Jazz, Pop and Film Music.
Pretium Music is bringing different worlds of music to music enthusiasts with close relationship with prominent Grammy Nominee/Winner musicians, producers, composers and prominent professors from Top- Ranking University of MDW (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien).
LAMISA + PRETIUM MUSIC
In partnership with Partners for the Arts Abroad|LLC, designer and owner of the Los Angeles Music Industry Summer Academy (LAMISA), Pretium Music is designing a contest in the capital city of music, Vienna, for European producers, singer-songwriters and high potential singers who are willing to level up their career and step into the highest stage of the pop music industry, which is taking place in Los Angeles, California.
This contest is going to be in 3 rounds. First and the second rounds are going to be online submissions and the final round is a live audition in Vienna.
THE PRIZE
The Prize of the contest is going to be full and partial scholarships for attending LAMISA, including accommodation at Hollywood Boulevard.

Angus Bangus Thomas: One of the prominent bassists who has been working with legends like Miles Davis, Stanley Clarke, John Mayall, and many more) He was also first bass teacher of the Darryl Jones ( Bassist of the Rolling Stones)

Gerald Schuller: Jazz pianist and producer. Lecturer professor at MDW (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, no.2 ranking university of the world)

Norbert Schneider: Austrian Singer-Songwriter & Producer. 10 Released albums and singles since 2005. One of the most influential artists in Austria, who is having sold out shows in most prestigious venues like Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener Staatsoper.
Juan Garcia Herreros: Current bassist of Hans Zimmer. Latin Grammy Nominated bassist. Voted as the best bassist in the world according to bass player magazine. He’s been playing
Andy Baum: Austrian Singer-Songwriter, film score & Media composer. Working with ORF.
Ewald Pfleger: Producer of the band Opus
Erwin Khachikian: Los Angeles based Singer-Songwriter, producer and band leader working with legendary pop and rock artists such as Sirj Tankian.
Thomas Anders : Modern Talking
Cesar Sampson: Austrian singer-songwriter and Austria’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
Christian Kolonovits: Austrian Pianist, Composer, Conductor & Music Producer. He has collaborated in more than 300 albums. 70 gold and platinum awards. Working with Vienna Symphony as well as pop stars like Wolfgang Ambros, Rainhard Fendrich, Ludwig Hirsch, Maria Bill and STS.
Martin Kromar: Austrian Singer-Songwriter who produced the title “That’s What I Am” for Conchita Wurst.

CONTEST DESCRIPTION
1st & 2nd ROUND ONLINE SUBMISSIONS
All applicants who are applying for the contest will receive a full review on their pieces by the Juries. This review is a well rounded Rubric which covers all the production aspects such as:
1) Vocal Production
2) Drums Production
3) Guitar & Bass Production
4) Synth & Piano Production
5) Rhythm Production
6) Harmony & Chord Progression
7) Melody, relationship between the Melody and the Lyrics
8) Right combination of Melody, Harmony and the Lyrics
9) Overall Dynamic
10) Overall Feeling
11) Mixing
12) Mastering
13) FXs, Pedals, Amps, Side Chains, etc
3rd ROUND | LIVE AUDITIONS and PRESENTATIONS
There will be 8 finalists on the last run, 4 Producers & 4 Singer-Songwriters, who are going for the live audition. Each applicant is then presenting his/her final piece of music, which is going to be played through the soundsystem. The juries are having the songs 12 hours ahead, without any name of the applicant, in order to analyse.
After the song is played, juries start to ask questions about the piece and assess the applicants ability to analyse his/her own pieces and provide logical & artistic technical aspects.
The audition process for each applicant is 45 minutes.
Then the jury will have 1 day to have a decision.
The winners are going to be officially announed the next day, during a dinner meeting where all the 8 applicants as well as all the juries are invited.

The Los Angeles Music Industry Summer Academy EUU Contest application is currently open and will close May 15th, 2020. In order to complete the application, please fill out the information below and click the "Submit & Pay" button. You will be redirected to PayPal in order to pay your €125.00 application fee. Your application is not complete until you pay the application fee.

ELIGIBILITY
Any person over the age of 18 years that would be willing to travel to Vienna for the live auditions is eligible to apply for the Los Angeles Music Industry Summer Academy.
* Finalists will be expected to provide their travel and housing costs, in order to attend
the live auditions in Vienna, Austria.

After submitting your application and completing your payment, your application will be reviewed and sent to our Jurors.
